Designation
This system has been designed for installing onboard the sea-going vessels, of unrestricted navigation region, offering possibility of freefall launching of the lifeboat loaded with a complete set of passengers, even at a vessel's list up to 20o either way and/or trim up to 10o and remains operable at ambient temperature within the range from -30oC up to +65oC.
Moreover, the system will also allow for:
- launch of the boat with a complete set of passengers by means of a trackway davit arrangement with electric winch;
- recovery of the boat with a crew of 3 to the stowage position by means of a trackway
davit arrangement with electric winch.
Rules and regulations
All components of the system comply with requirements of SOLAS 74 Convention - Consolidated Edition of 1992, IMO Resolution A.689/17 and requirements of particular classification societies as BV, DMA, DNV, GL, LR, MRS, MSA, PRS and SBG.
Specification
The complete Trackway Davit Freefall Survival System consists of a freefall lifeboat and launching arrangement comprising launching ramp, davit assembly, electric winch, traverse beam for boat suspension and necessary rigging. With slings disconnected and releasing pin unlocked the boat runs down the ramp and freefalls into the water. In case the freefall launching is unrealisable the design of the system enables also normal launching of the boat loaded with a complete set of passengers with a davit and electric winch that lowers the boat onto the water. The boat with a crew of 3 can be recovered and stowed in its normal position on the ramp the same way. Lowering and hoisting of the boat is controlled by one person from aft deck or boat platform. The davit winch is driven with a 3x380V; 50Hz or 3x440V; 60Hz electric motor. The winch is provided also with a hand crank emergency drive. In case of sinking of vessel the boat will be released automatically, due to the hydrostatic releasing devices. Metal surfaces of the system components are protected with marine rust inhibiting paints.
