Steering gears Piston - type steering gears are destined for driving rudders of ship of unlimited navigating area. Steering gears are equipped with a dual hydraulic system, which can be automatically split in case of a failure. They meet all requirements included in the 1981 and 1983 Amendments to the SOLAS 74 Convention. They are produced according to rules of, and approved by, such Classification Societies as e.g. PRS, L.R. of Sh., Germanischer Lloyd, ABS, DNV, BV, Russian Register of Shipping.	Click to enlarge

Technical characteristics range of nominal torques - M_n= 20 - 2500 [kNm] nominal pressure - p_n= 16 [Mpa] opening pressure of safety valves - p_max= 20 [Mpa] angle of rudder turn - a = +/- 35^o or for gears of M_n= 20 - 320 [kNm] - a₁= +/- 45^o time of rudder deflection from a = - 35^o to a = + 30^o - t = 28 seconds working temperature - T = 10 - 50^oC working medium - heavy-duty hydraulic mineral oils of viscosity amounting to ca n = 50 cSt at T = 50^oC.
