Anchor chains

Anchor stud-link chains are included in the sea going ship's anchor gear.
The chain intermediate schackles can be used as an ordinary chain lifting sling.

Execution

The anchor chain consists of reguired number of intermediate shots marked with symbols: BOl, B02, B03, and end shots marked with symbols from AO1 to A08. The construction ot respective shot is shown in the corresponding drawings. The chains can be divided into two classes in respect of strength:
U2 (2a) - of increased strength
U3 (3a) - of special strength
The values of test and breaking loads are given in the table No.1. The chain links are made of properly shaped electrically welded steel bars. The other elements as: end shackles, swivel shackles, up to 26 mm Kenter joining shackles are made from die forging.
Chains meet the requirements of the following Classification Societies: G.L. LRS, BV, DNV, ABS, PRS, Register of Russia.

The designation of chain elements consists of the following:
type of shot      - A or B
kind of chain set      - 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, O6, 07, 08
chain size (calibre)      - figures U2 (from 19 to 73)
designation of chain class      - U2 (2a) or U3 (3a)
